• Hash-based one-time password (HOTP) is event-based and a combination of a private key & a licence-based one-time password that is used to secure two-factor authentication (2FA) for web services that do not support WebAuthn. HOTP can also be used in offline application scenarios where users do not have access to the internet.
• Personal Identity Verification (PIV) enables the iShield Key Pro to store personal credentials for a specific person to securely store digital certificates and private keys and to store security keys for device identification, authentication and registration using the PKCS#11 cryptographic standard. This is how iShield Key Pro can be used for Windows logon thanks to PIV.
